Urine Microscopy, Culture & Sensitivities (Urine MCS)
Urine Microscopy, Culture & Sensitivities (Urine MCS)
Couldn't load pickup availability
Examines a urine sample under microscopy and by culture, reporting cells present and any organisms that grow, with antimicrobial sensitivities.
Renamed from "Urine Micro/Culture/Sensitivities (Urine MCS) UTI Test"
What this test measures
Urine protein, glucose and ketones; leukocytes, erythrocytes and epithelial cells on microscopy; plus culture for any organisms present and their antimicrobial sensitivities.
Why these markers matter
This test does two jobs. Microscopy reports what cells are present in the sample. Culture attempts to grow any organisms and, where something grows, reports which antimicrobials it responds to. That second part is what makes it clinically useful — it's the difference between knowing something is present and knowing what would work against it. Which is also why this result belongs with a prescriber.
What you get
Microscopy and culture results in your private dashboard. Culture takes longer than blood work; allow several business days.
Who this suits
People whose practitioner has asked for urine microscopy and culture.
## Part C — What's left
| Batch | Content | Count | |---|---|---| | 1 — done | Multi-marker panels | 17 | | 2 | Functional kits — stool, saliva, urine, hair, spot cards | 79 | | 3 | Single analytes A–L | ~65 | | 4 | Single analytes M–Z | ~63 |
Parked: 12. Total to publish: 224.
Batch 2 is the next most valuable — the functional kits have the highest prices in the range and the most variable collection instructions, which is where unclear copy costs you in support enquiries.
