Measures
Lipoprotein(a), a specific lipid particle.
Why it matters
Lp(a) is a lipoprotein particle whose concentration is largely genetically determined. Unlike most lipid markers, it changes very little with diet, exercise or most medications.
That stability is the point: it's typically measured once rather than tracked, because the number isn't going to move much. Some practitioners use it as additional context alongside a standard lipid panel.
Before you collect
No special preparation. Once measured, there's usually little reason to repeat it.
Suits
People whose practitioner wants lipid information beyond a standard panel.
Your next step
Once you have your results, book with a Canwell naturopath, nutritionist or practitioner to talk them through and build a wellness plan that suits you. Book with Canwell
