At-home spot urine test measuring iodine at a single point in time.
What this test measures
Iodine concentration in a single urine sample.
Why these markers matter
Most iodine taken in is excreted in urine, so a spot measurement reflects recent intake reasonably well. "Recent" is the caveat. A spot result moves with what you ate in the last day or two — seaweed, dairy, iodised salt and supplements all shift it. It describes intake more than status, and a single reading is a snapshot rather than a trend.
What you get
Kit posted to you with instructions and return packaging. Results in your private dashboard, typically one to two weeks after collection.
Before you collect
First morning urine. Note what you've eaten in the preceding 48 hours — your practitioner will want to know, particularly seaweed, sushi and iodine supplements.
Who this suits
People tracking iodine intake with a practitioner.
Your next step
