Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase Immunoglobulin A (tTG IgA) Blood Test
Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase Immunoglobulin A (tTG IgA) Blood Test

Measures IgA antibodies to tissue transglutaminase.
Measures
IgA antibodies to tissue transglutaminase.
Why it matters
The most commonly used first-line antibody test when investigating the immune response to gluten.
One limitation worth knowing: the test measures an IgA antibody, and some people produce little IgA generally. In that situation the result can be falsely low, which is why total IgA is often measured alongside it.
Before you collect
Keep eating gluten normally. Removing it beforehand lowers antibody levels and makes the result difficult to interpret.
Suits
People investigating gluten-related symptoms with a practitioner.
Your next step
